Re: AdBux
Josh, where did you see that this is run by the same people as NetBux? The AdBux ad rates seem sustainable, but I am concerned now you mention this... and would also be surprised that they'd make a new site with a very similar name!

Re: AdBux
I can attest it works for me. Signed up yesterday and went back to reading, forgetting about it until this morning. Checked my email, nothing. Went to the site to check my stats and noticed I had 1 referral and $.22 in my account. I can't remember how to do a screenshot; so, I'll just c&p:

Re: AdBux
Thanks Josh
I just thought I would try this one (been a bit quite lately with all the sites that have had problems) there seems to be a bit of interest in this one and also at the present time it appears, from what I have read so far, to have already made some payouts, been a bit busy so I have not looked into this site as thoroughly as others that I am a member of.

Re: AdBux
Thanks, Josh. Time will tell; and, if it begins to go south, I know what to do, lol. This does not have X number of "referral levels." You get 1, IF someone signs under you in a referral thread; otherwise, you advertise and try your luck, or "buy" referrals from the site.
Again, thanks for the comments. Good to see you, again.

Re: AdBux
Hi Josh
Quote:
One other thing to watch is the total earned balance. Doesn't it seem to be going up rather quickly? I know the advertisements are "sustainable," but as we've seen, site owners don't always charge the rates they show, and they don't always send out only ads that have been paid for by others. There's only so much a site of this type and size can truly be worth to advertisers. It simply can't continue to be worth as much as it is giving out to members at this point.
|
I may be wrong, but it actually says "Total Earned" and not "Total Paid".
I would assume then that the stats are in real time, being both the earnings and the members seem to change every visit I have made.
Just checked again and waited a while then refreshed the page and all has changed again.
Sorry I can not tell if it pays yet, but I think it's worth seeing what happens.

Re: AdBux
Been looking around a bit and have found bits and pieces all over the place about this site.
So far things seem a bit vague as to who the owner really is, maybe in time more will come out and things will be clearer.
The way things are moving on the site getting to $5 may not take that long, just have to see what happens from there.
At least if it turns out to be a scam I can report here, and leave a little note saying you told me so.
I'll let you know what happens when I reach payout, thanks for finding the links.

Only joking !
Seems a few have been paid already, although I don't know the members personally.

There are also quite a few that I have seen signing up that are well into ptr, so I am just hoping that things work out for all that become members of this site.

Yep, does and is ... .already. Apparently you don't see the option unless you are a member. Yesterday, the price was $39.95 per 50 referrals. This is taken from the "daily news", etc., section, as of a hour ago:
Quote:
|
04/18 - Due to the serious demand in purchasing un-referred users, we've increased the price to $59.95 per 50 referrals effective immediately. Increased demand calls for increased prices, it's the way business works. Especially like yesterday when we had 7 sets available that were scooped up in 3 seconds flat!
|
Through the "buy referrals" link:
Quote:
We know how difficult and time consuming referring others can be, especially when you simply don't have the time. Why not let us do the referring for you? In fact, we've already got active members who joined without a referrer who we can automatically place beneath you and let you reap the rewards!
Currently, we have many un-referred users who are looking for a home! You can purchase 50 of these un-referred AdBux members for a price of only $59.95. This is an EXTREMELY low price to pay when you sit back and imagine your profits. In fact, based on averages, 50 active referrals can bring you about $150 a month (give or take) IF they are active. That's a $100+ profit in just one month! Although, we cannot guarantee that you will earn such a profit.
There are currently 0 sets available for purchasing. Simply fill out the form below and press "Pay Now," you will then be given the option to pay via PayPal. Once you've completed your order, your referrals will be added within 24-48 hours. PLEASE make sure your PayPal e-mail is correct so that when we do a cross-reference, we'll know who to give the referrals to!
SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY! DO NOT COMPLETE THE FORM IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF PURCHASING BECAUSE IT CHANGES THE QTY'S! WE will consider any non-intentive order submissions as abuse and won't hesitate to delete your account. DO NOT click the "Pay Now" button below if you do not have intentions to purchase!
This feature automatically turns off to let the un-referred user base grow for a period of 15 hours. Check back anytime between 3:00pm - Midnight (EST) everyday to get in on the action, they tend to go pretty fast! As AdBux gets more popular, you'll begin to see this message less frequently. Good luck!

Does this have a familiar ring?
Mods: Would you consider moving this from "advertising" to "general discussion"?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Adbux
I moved all but IanH's original post with his referral which should stay in the advertising section.

Re: Adbux
My memory fails me sometimes. Wasn't NetBux a search program that depended on revenues from various search engines?
I've decided to give this a try but it does look like it's too good to be true.

As of right now:
Looks like $1410.16 earned in 28 1/2 hours. So much for my couple hundred daily estimate. If it was valid before, it isn't now.
Bad tidings for the continuation of this program... Let's keep an eye on how it increases over the next days, though.
Take care.

Josh,
If this is of interest, and I expect it is, as of now, the figures are:
Total Users: 10,837
Total Earned: $4473.33
As for ads, the number of ads available dropped from 22, yesterday, to 9, today.

Re: Adbux
Another update.
Quote:
|
Currently, we have many un-referred users who are looking for a home! You can purchase 25 of these un-referred AdBux members for a price of only $39.95. This is an EXTREMELY low price to pay when you sit back and imagine your profits. In fact, based on averages, 25 active referrals can bring you about $100 - $150+ a month (give or take) IF they are active. That could be $100+ profit in just one month! Although, we cannot guarantee that you will earn such a profit.

As opposed to yesterday's:
Quote:

04/18 - Due to the serious demand in purchasing un-referred users, we've increased the price to $59.95 per 50 referrals effective immediately. Increased demand calls for increased prices, it's the way business works. Especially like yesterday when we had 7 sets available that were scooped up in 3 seconds flat!
|
and $39.95 per 50 referrals three days ago. The number of available ads has now dropped to 7.
From the "news" section:
Quote:
04/19 - We're currently researching our best options for using e-gold as an alternative payout. The downfall with using e-gold is the hassles of getting it exchanged. We're trying to find a reputable e-gold exchange company that will exchange PayPal to e-gold and vice versa with good rates and are able to exchange large sums. Until we are able to find such a company, e-gold will be put on hold. We're also looking into using a "checks in the mail" method. PayPal is great except not everyone can use it. We'll continue to use PayPal of course for a payment method, but we're looking for alternatives so anyone can get paid without restrictions. Any of your feedback or suggestions is appreciated!
We changed the price and quantity for the un-referred user sets again. $39.95 for 25 referrals. This should give more users a chance at purchasing un-referred users while at the same time, increasing the price due to the demand.
|
This is beginning to get interesting.

Re: Adbux
I'm jumping in kind of late here -- been meaning to check this program out because as soon as I saw the name, the very first thing that went through my mind was "OMG - Chad's back!"
Seeing that he's selling refs only solidifies that thought. (Wonder how many of those refs are actually bot-created accounts - something that was Chad's specialty and allowed him to make quite a tidy sum from unsuspecting people who thought they were buying real refs from him.
I've got a really bad feeling about this one - and seeing this site advocate disabling your anti-virus/anti-spyware programs for uninterrupted surfing there didn't do much to make that feeling go away.
From their FAQs:
Quote:
I can't see any ads!
If you see no ad links on the "Surf Ads" page, you need to disable all antivirus and antispyware/adware programs. The word "AD" in "AdBux" is causing the links to be blocked or filtered.
|
Is he nuts or what? (What kinds of ads are run there anyway? I can't imagine that there's a big rush of people willing to pay $3.40 for only 100 hits.)
BTW...Thanks to Josh for nudging me in this direction...God knows how long it would have taken me to find it on my own.
<waves to Ron> Haven't seen you forever and now I can't get away from you, lol!!
