Basically, it states that Click4Cents, under its new ownership, will reset all cash earnings to ZERO on 9/22/02. We have until then to redeem for advertising.
I'm not happy about this. I'm not alone. See the above thread.

I have $8.30 in earnings which I made without any referrals and I have been with them since the beginning.
Now I'm going to lose it all along with everyone else in the program.
Apparently you can redeem for advertising but who's going to click the links when your money is going to be taken away on 22/09/02 anyway?

I think some people buy the paid to read programs make a bundle and then sell them to someone else before they have to pay anyone. Which is a win win for them. I just cant believe people are actually buying the secondhand programs makes me mad because that just helps the first webmaster screw people over and fills their pockets even more GRRR

That's what I thought - I reckon it's this guy that's taken it over that the problem here not Denise. Someone over on Getpaidforums suggested that Denise was somehow to blame for not putting something in the contract about the issue. However, I've got a suspiscion that it wouldn't have made any difference.
It wouldn't suprise me if this new owner takes the money that people pay from their paypal accounts to top up for advertising/gold membership and then disappears with it all.

I dont think Denise is to blame. She sold the site to someone who changed it. Nothing she could really do.

I agree this is horrible... I think they should be made to keep the member's balances... That's like saying I know you worked 40 hours but we decided to bring you working hours to 0 so we don't have to pay you... Boycott it.. :( I didn't have much of a balance because I didn't have any referrals but still it was work I did and maybe I don't want advertising...

Maybe we can spread the word by having other webmasters send an e-mail to the problem by directing them to these posts to complain. I am seeing complaints all over now.

What happens when someone sells there site? Do they make arragments to give the new webmaster some money to pay of the members or dose the old webmaster just take the money and run?
Whats the deal made.
I wish every body that belongs to these programs, when a new webmaster dose this that all of us whould just quite and not sign up again and then maybe these idiots whould think twice about screwing us over. What a jerk!!

I think the old owner should have made good on her debts before selling. I understand the new owner doesn't want to pay for a site and then be stuck with debt that wasn't his own. But the sale should have either included that as part of the deal, or the old owner should have paid anything outstanding before selling it. That's pretty much the law. I think she like many site owners builds up and runs, sells it on ebay, and saddles some sucker who bought the site with debt. A friend of mine said there's an ebook going around that shows people how to build up a site and then ebay it and run with the money. It's happening a lot lately and I think a lot of them go in to the business planning to build up a site's reputation and then pawn off the accounts on someone who gets it off of ebay. I'm thinking of quitting all programs that sell paid mails and memberships on ebay because they might just end up selling the whole program.
Bottom line is, the new owner and the members just got gypped.

When you buy a business you buy the debt too... but I think you buy the revenu also, so the part of the revenu from the advertising that belongs to the member should have been given to the new owner as a part of the deal... Is that what happens? Only the seller and buyer can answer that one.

because if you buy a site, you don't have to start with 0 members. A site that's been around sells for more than a new one because they already know advertisers and have members and it makes it easier to get new advertisers. Advertisers don't like taking a risk with a new site that hasn't had experience and isn't as well known as an old site. The problem is that the webmasters use the site to build up their own downlines in other programs, make a little money from advertisers, and then since they only paid 300 for the site they auction it off for 600 or more. It's because the new person is buying the member base. Then they start a brand new one and do it all over again. Webmasters also "swap" referrals with other webmasters which is basically ripping off their gold members. I think MEC and CAC should step in and change the contract so that the site and scripts can't be resold. Like if it doesn't work out the person just shuts down or can sell the domain name but not resell the member base and the pages. I have lost almost all respect for the CAC and MEC people because if they cared about anything they wouldn't allow their members to do this. It isn't good business for them and it's strange that they allow the resale of their scripts and hosting plans. When the site gets sold they don't make anything off of it and they are losing money because the new person isn't paying them for the scripts. The only one making money is the old webmaster, not CAC or MEC. These people are reselling something that is CAC's or MEC's property and those kind of scripts are usually copyrighted. If a Burger King shut down and I bought the land, I wouldn't have the right to use their menus, trademarks, and products, I'd have to clear the building out and do my own thing and start a new business with an original name.

Hello again members.
I am bowing to the majority and will not perform the reset. All earnings will remain as is. The one change I will make instead is raising the Paypal cash payout to a $20.00 amount. No one will lose any earnings, but it will take longer to receive a payout. I appreciate everyone's views and have read all the complaints. I have made this change even after answering many mails saying my policy would remain, but enough was enough. I apologize to the membership for causing so much aggravation.
Next, since I am sure 99% of the current redemptions I have in the advertising area are related to my previous policy of the reset, I am deleting them all because there are so many to go through. I know I put the members through a lot of work making the redemptions, but most would rather keep their earnings from what I have been told. Any redemptions that the members still want to perform, I will need them to be redone. Because of the time involved in reading all the complaints and support mail I have done a limited amount of redemptions. I have a record of those, but if any of the members that used cash earnings into redemptions that I have performed make the request, I will credit their account. Since point redemptions made were not going to be affected by the reset, there won't be a credit for them.
I hope this qualms the anger of most of the members and I hope you will continue your membership with the site. Thanks again for everyone's input.
