These sites both offer a pay-to-search format that does not appear to be sustainable. Netbux.org's site is very unprofessional, with grammatical and typographical errors. They used to use Paypal to do transactions, but their paypal account has been frozen. Now they have a link to paypalsucks.com and encourage people to sign up for Stormpay through a personal referral link posted several times throughout the site.

They both offer a referral program, but disturbingly they also allow members to "buy" unreferred members and get credit for their earnings. The site specifically states "You can think of it as an investment with a guaranteed huge return." However, they also claim that selling referrals is a source of income for the site, which if true would mean they are Ponzi schemes.

I personally purchased $50 worth of referrals on netbux shortly after the site came up. I never received any credit for this purchase and after complaining and requesting a refund, I still have received neither, and no response. I have disupted the charge through paypal.

If the sites truly are Ponzi schemes they will collapse in a few months. But I think it is worth boycotting in the meantime to protect people from purchasing referrals which they may never receive, and even if they do, will likely lose money on them.

Many others have had problems and complaints about netbux, which can be read at the fourms on www.mynetbux.com

The sites closed down once. Been down many times than that. I also move that this be added to the boycott list. Although I don't think that it can be boycotted, because they do pay.

Netbux has paid, I believe 3 confirmed people. PayPup has never paid a soul. They have taken in $20,000+ in sold referral fees, and who knows how much in advertisement revenue.

I'm guessing he did the # of referals sold x the cost of a referal.

All of these search things, netbux, paypup, searchpay and ibux, all very very sketchy.

Common sense would tell us these were never going to work...when the average ptr must walk on eggs regarding smaller feeds/se and cant even run a google link/box on their site, cause google wont let them, how did anyone think this would work??

i have repeatedly said this from the start...too bad a warning was not put up on the watch list here....i dont join programs so could not put a complaint, but some stuff should be common sense....this site should have taken a stand and maybe prevented some people from losing time and more importantly money

instead, this forum has been overrun with argumentative, bombastic promoters for these sorry sites....and when people like myself, lil, etc tried to state otherwise we were shouted down...one guy who put up a netbuxsucks site went on to make his own clone of these sorry sites....unreal

I dont know whether to laugh or cry and the greed and duplicity of people...or just wave my little "told ya so" banner high and proud

i really do think tho that this site should NOT rely on its process soooo much but have the courage to simply post warnings on obviously shaky stuff right away.....Rob himself knew this was a fools game from the start...hopefully with more mods they can also stop some of the ridiculous self promotion threads started by people with the intention to promote scam sites
