These sites both offer a pay-to-search format that does not appear to be sustainable. Netbux.org's site is very unprofessional, with grammatical and typographical errors. They used to use Paypal to do transactions, but their paypal account has been frozen. Now they have a link to paypalsucks.com and encourage people to sign up for Stormpay through a personal referral link posted several times throughout the site.
They both offer a referral program, but disturbingly they also allow members to "buy" unreferred members and get credit for their earnings. The site specifically states "You can think of it as an investment with a guaranteed huge return." However, they also claim that selling referrals is a source of income for the site, which if true would mean they are Ponzi schemes.
I personally purchased $50 worth of referrals on netbux shortly after the site came up. I never received any credit for this purchase and after complaining and requesting a refund, I still have received neither, and no response. I have disupted the charge through paypal.
If the sites truly are Ponzi schemes they will collapse in a few months. But I think it is worth boycotting in the meantime to protect people from purchasing referrals which they may never receive, and even if they do, will likely lose money on them.
Many others have had problems and complaints about netbux, which can be read at the fourms on www.mynetbux.com
