This is a warning I answered an audition call in Nashville Tennessee got the part and it turns out that its an extremely low budget one women business and extremely unprofessional. (And Possibly Only Possibly could be a fraud or more too it then just a show)
( My Advice and option)Do Not Audition or meet anyone from Gypsy Players LoLa Mc Kenna you hear that name run like hell.
They want you to pay for everything your costume, your gas to travel, and other. The So called Director Is so unprofessional its laughable she wants to run it like a high school play or show not only that but she got lost trying to find a rehearsal hall(a ymca all purpose room and this is not a kids show and there were kids watching us) that was set for her.
(Mind you don't even know if they got kicked out of there yet, they were not paying to use that either.)
Also she was not aware that there was no Star Bucks in a hotel we met at that she told me to meet her at for the so call Audition(In The Lobby). There was only 2 of us that showed up for it as well. And I had to travel 40 miles to get to the rehearsal there.
You only get $25 per performance (and supposedly tips)and they get like $45 per person for serving dinner and a show that's like $90 for two people.
Also they were asked to leave the hotel they were supposed to have the show in for sneaking in to rehearse and that was not on the contract. Yes she really has it booked to do the show but they did not book it to rehearse in she was sneaking us in.
There is nothing in a profile I found on her on a site called "extras on call" there is nothing that qualifies her to be a director or producer of anything she only did like 5 plays and had like 2 things of acting school. (supposedly)
She is so unprofessional she does not even know the script of a show she was supposed to have even been in. And if you point out something like the reason for this is this or they do not do this they do this. She huffs and puffs and says (I AM THE DIRECTOR) then says we are not on the same page( not even willing to compromise).
I had the script totally Memorized in 2 weeks( That's me though I can do that for some odd reason. She noticed that and even commented on that). She even stopped us the one time and was asking if all the scripts were the same because there was something she did not see on hers.
Also in the beginning she was saying how nice it was that I was like her shadow and right hand man. As A matter of fact when she got lost that night she called me. I asked if I should get things started and she said yes and that she would be there shortly.
Well to inform her she is not even on the same script let alone page she does not even know or follow the script the show she is supposedly running or really cares how the show looks. It looks and is running like a high school play, worse a low budget high school play.
I would advise everyone to stay away form Gypsy Players productions.
Oh And get this I was informed the first time by the hotel manager of the Holiday Inn they were supposed to be at that there were no reservations for it .
Then when I called her on it they suddenly appeared. Odd huh?
On their site justmurder.com they are using pay pal for people to by tickets and it says " We can change our days or show or location in 24 hours" And " There are no refunds"
Also they advertised it before booking the hotel apparently(the way it looked and was told to me)( I could be wrong but its doubtful)
Bigger joke she went to burn the music for the show on her computer and did not even do that correctly.
All the information on the roles we had we had she gave us I had already found on the inter net on the Gilligan's Island site that mind you I told her about.
she went to the site and printed off the information.
Also the site justmurder.com sells these mystery games through an other company claiming they are not connected to that site that has them. Do it at home party time mystery games "host a murder" this show is not one of them but there are others like it.
Also she did not tell us any history or background of gypsy players or herself. I found the information on her after doing a Google search.
Also she did not make copies of our Id's to verify who we were nor did she tell us the history of the Gypsy Players nor her background nor did she have us fill out tax forms to get paid with.
Also on their web site there is a picture that is fraud and misleading of a cast that you will not see at this supposed show.
We were supposed to do the promo picture March 14th. Mind you this picture she has up there was all the while and no one she had planned to have in the Brentwood cast. Mind you the Picture on the site now is supposed to be from last years show Lola is the one in the white hat in front of the blonde and in back of the skipper.
Question that show was supposed to have taken place April 23, 2004 At The Holiday Inn in Palmdale California and ran for April,May,June like the one here in Brentwood Tennessee at the Holiday Inn, If you look At Lola's Extras on call profile she was here in Brentwood Tennessee March 12th 2004 so you mean to tell me she would leave here go there then come back and go there???

When I called the Holiday Inn In Palmdale and asked about the show that was there last year to the manager she was very jumpy said yes I know about that group Gypsy Players.

Then said well "Legally I can not say much" but they did put on shows once in a while. When I asked who the producer was she got very nervous. I explained the story that happened to me and when she heard the name Lola Mc Kenna she was jumping to get me off the phone.
And Mind you She lost two of us on the 10th who left.. Tell me if she gets new actors to replace ones who leave or she fires how are they going to remember the 21 page script, get their costumes,have her take a cast picture,advertise in the paper,change the picture on the web site all before the 29th of April.
Also this makes me wonder about the security of the YMCA and also the Holiday Inn. being she has a way of walking people into those places.
Also being that she is like the only person running this what would happened if she got sick or something happened as to were she could not come to the opening day of the show.
The only contact we had for her was a cell phone and a e-mail address. The other information is in California someplace. Mind you not listed with the BBB. And is an Answering service with 4 choices of things on its menu. Never really talking to a real person.
When Doing a google search on some of this I pulled up something odd. The way it looked Lola has been posting on a site under another name as well and may be headed to Atlanta Georgia before the End of this month as a phony named company "Lawyer Henderson Casting"
Lola hunny ( If your out there and someone tips you off on this) if you were thinking Wrestling names its Lawler not Lawyer.....
But if you keep it up you might need a Lawyer when they bust you.
Even if you put on one show to cover your ***. You are still getting money through pay pal for 3 shows. April,May,June So it would still be a crime and a scam and a fraud.
Ok ok so she put a picture up a new one taken on the 14th but.. Get this... One of the cast members called me told me that Lola was crying and carrying on and begging people to join the cast at the YMCA and that she was getting people who are not even actors who could not even act their way out of a paper bag. This person also told me its not fun anymore and that it keeps getting more and more unprofessional and that no one should even really pay to come see the show.
Also this cast member told me that Tomorrow Wednesday the 15.. poof they will be gone they are going to quit and run because of this bull of her being unprofessional, not knowing or following the script, And not hiring people who know how to act. She lost almost all her cast and posted on the craigs list she wants 4 main people and 7 understudies that means she thinks she will lose everyone.
She lost her April Show And she is working on a may show I say everyone boycott her!
