One more - FreeAndEasy -
This is Cathy of FreeAndEasy (http://ptr.freeandeasyonline.com).
I am having a technical problem at my site, but the host is working
to fix it as fast as he can.
You may not be able to login or get credits for paid links until
the problem is fixed. Sorry, I don't know how long that will be.
I have a fresh back-up of the member data from this morning (my time),
so all your information is completely safe.
Please do not promote your referral links for the program right now.
I will let everyone know as soon as things are back to normal.
You can reach me at my forum:
http://community.freeandeasyonline.com/forum/main.php
And at my support folder at Get Paid Forum:
http://www.getpaidforum.com/forums/index.p...php?act=SF&f=64
Thanks

Hi DAz!!!
Is there anything that you can suggest webmasters can do about this?
Here we go again - asking for your help. You are so wonderful.
**Sigh**

Yes, I'd like to know if you have any suggestions DAz. I have 4 sites involved, 2 of which are back up now, one still down, and one a total loss. I don't know about other webmasters involved but I'm sure most feel the same way I do. I'll do whatever it takes to at least get some kind of satisfaction over all the MESS!
Thanks for any advice.

Hi again.
DAz is aware of what is going on. He's reading through all of the info now.
Once he has some course of action that can be taken, or any advise, he will let us know.
Thanks DAz. You are wonderful!!

Thanks for the kind words, in2. This is far too important to delay waiting on my getting to the office. I've found a site that should help those that have been victimized:
http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal/cybercrime/reporting.htm
I suspect each of the following will apply, so scroll down and look for: Computer intrusion (i.e. hacking); Password trafficking; and, Copyright (software, movie, sound recording) piracy. Also, paragraph preceeding these listings provides links to the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the NAAG's Computer Crime Point-of-Contact List CCPC. I would strongly recommend that any webmaster/webmistress, or anyone else for that matter, having been affected by this person use the link provided and file the necessary complaints to expedite prosecution.
If anyone knows someone who has been victimized, send them the above link or a link to this thread.
Thanks,
Ron

Thank you DAz.
Will pass it on.
Poncer - really? I haven't been able to log into PJ and I was also near payout. Bugger!!

Sadly, this is the type of things that happen when a script is made universal. Allowing multiple people to use the same code or script for things can only seem to invite the enevitable. It's a shame that it had impact the community so strongly, though maybe this will set the programmers in action to be sure that the code base and scripts are better secured.
I hope everyone involved is able to get the means of justice in which they seek. Tis always the tragic endevor which brings strangers closest.

Yes, huge thanks to DAz. I'm a big fan of yours already but I usually just sit on the bench and read. Must feel good to know you're helping so many people... :)

I have a feeling yall are going to be in semi-shock by the time this is all over. I know of 5 (including one of mine) that are completely wiped out as far as database, and about 4 others that are looking pretty iffy. Isn't it just pathetic that "this person" is feeling so smug while we're all devastated? I'd feel sorry for him if I wasn't so headstrong on bringing him down... lots farther down than he brought me.

LOL, Heartless, like you said, "Ain't nuthin' but a thang!"
Thanks for the compliment; I didn't realize I had such avid readers. I am honored.
All of us here try to contribute in our own way, hopefully so that others may benefit. In this instance, I sincerely hope that when the identity of the alleged "hacker" is certain and all doubt has been removed, he/she will be prosecuted by the law - rather than persecuted through the forums. Far too much damage has been done to allow this person to go unpunished.

I have contacted the FBI through the link provided by DAZ. They have sent me the following e-mail:
Subject: FBI Response - Hacking
Dear Mr. Perlberg,
Thank you for submitting your information concerning a possible
compromise of Internet sites. We suggest that the best avenue to submit
your information is the CERT web site at http://www.cert.org. CERT is
the Computer Emergency Response Team located at the Software Engineering
Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. CERT
is a center for Internet security excellence and they publish
information concerning current cyber security topics as well as maintain
a knowledge base of attack techniques and solutions to prevent the
attacks which is available at their web site. The FBI works closely
with CERT and you can also report your incident to CERT through their
web site.
In addition to CERT, you may report your incident directly to the
National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) which is hosted by the
FBI. Information concerning the NIPC is available at
http://www.nipc.gov. A detailed incident reporting form is available at
their site as well.
Once again, thank you for reporting your information to the FBI.
Sincerely,
David N. Rushing,
Supervisory Special Agent
FBI Headquarters
Washington, D.C.
Now I have been to the two sites suggested to fill out an incident report, but on the forms to fill out there is a lot of information that I do not have pertaining to servers, host machines, ip addresses, companies affected. I do not have the information. Maybe someone that is in the loop more, and knows all the exact details can go visit the site and fill out the form, or visit the site, gather all the required info and e-mail me the info to webmaster@cashpalacepaidmail.com. I will then go and fill out the forms.
Also, it seems that through further investigation, the hacker may not be Thane but ........... William Bowen.
Hmmm.....

PJ's is up, but my account is gone. I don't know what to do. Had three people in my downline on the first level. I was getting very close to $4 in total cash, and all that. I am bummed out, and very sad.

Here's more, posted by Wayne (a guest) at MyECom Forum:
"Someone sent out a porn email out of my girlfriends site today, emailsforads.com. This was not sent out by Adela, and this email did not have a paid link. Also dollarsbyemail.com was hacked, points emails were given over 20,000 points, and some 20 and 30 cents.
As for william whatever his name is, I remember used to be a member of Hitmans Gold. He had the most credits than anyone else in the system. I found it suspicious but I had no evidence to remove him from the system. Then again he may have just wanted to buil up alot of clicks, so i'm not sure but that name I do remember.
Also for webmasters, can you please send an email out on behalf of emailsforads.com explaining that it was not an advert sent by them, but by someone else. emailsforads has never sent pornographic emails and never will. My girlfriend was very upset about this. Hacking my sites, i'm upset, but hacking my girlfriends site makes me want to kill the person responsible. Since there is doubt here, I am not aiming this response to any particular person, but making a comment."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've added this because Wayne asked to "send an email out." I hope he doesn't mind the post, instead. The "william whatever his name is" Wayne is referring to is a William B. Bowen, presumably from the area around Tupelo, MS. Does anyone know him or anything about him?
Actually, I already posted about William Bowen at GetPaidForum yesterday.
William Bowen is the guy who used to help me with the technical stuff at my site.
I haven't heard from him in ages; I thought he'd fallen off the face of the earth.
He NEVER gave me any reason to not trust him.
I am going to stay totally neutral on this issue.
Whatever the truth is, John will find it.
Sorry, I wasn't aware of your post; and, I'm certainly NOT suggesting that you should mistrust him. I'm far from being a computer person, so, the lingo means nothing to me. Judging from the posts at MyECom, at the time of my post, noone knew who Bowen was. I saw your link to that forum and stumbled across something that tied him to your site; and, frankly, I didn't know if you were aware of it. IMO, it's a little too early in the investigation to be pointing fingers at anybody for certain. There's still something called "proof beyond a reasonable doubt." One has already been accused and the accusation retracted, I think. I doubt, at this point, anyone knows where this will lead, or end.
Thanks for getting back to me; I appreciate your input.
Don't worry, I wasn't implying that you were implying anything.
I don't know who is guilty or not guilty.
I was quick to jump on the Thane theory along with everyone else.
Now I don't know if it's Thane or someone else. I'm just waiting to hear John's final conclusions. And no doubt, he WILL find the truth.
No problem, here. I didn't think you were implying anything, either, lol. I'm sure a lot of people will be relieved when this is finally laid to rest. I'm just really sorry that it happened and so many were affected by it. Wish I knew more about computer crime and could help in some way - but, I'm totally lost when it comes to computer stuff.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.
I'm not very technically minded myself.
I'm reading all John's posts about the hacker situation, and as much as I try, I can't understand half of what he's talking about.
All of us who's sites were hit are taking it very hard. We are all stressed out because of it, but isn't it wonderful how the paid to community has pulled together? Including the members; they are being incredibly supportive and understanding.
Gives me a warm feeling inside :)
Everyone understands this was completely unavoidable - at least, that's what I'm seeing in their posts. We're all hoping everything is back to normal soon. Good luck to you and all who have been victimized.
This guy is a member of the Get Paid Forum because I found him in the member's list. Another thing is to ask is how long did he had his foot in the door on these programs? Somehow, someone added me to the DollarsByEmail last June. I never did signed up, and Wayne was confused at why I was in his database.
