Just had to see another thread opened by a "brand new" member.
Obviously a spam, and also, not of the best kind.

Would it make sense to have a requirement before someone can post here.

I understand the availability of the staff/admin here, and have no issues about it.
On the other hand, in this specific instance, we didn't need to see this person's "sister's friend". BTW, "yea right" to this poster.

Would it be a good idea, and possible to allow this for new posters:
1- can only post in a specific section, until reaches a certain number of post (ex.: 5)
2- new member cannot, until allowed (after this 5 posts):
* post a link
* post an image

Does it makes sense, is it feasible.
And obviously, would you agree with this possibility

A good idea I think, mlev.

Perhaps for new members, the use of a signature, and posting of images and links will only become available from their third post onwards?

What do you think about that?

Rob

That it be 3 or 5 is OK I think.
Most won't bother post more then once.

If you make it 3, and there still are some, you can always change it to higher.

Even though it may not stop them completely, at least it would be nice to slow them down.
They really have been active lately.

Thanks for the taking this in consideration

Done - let's hope the spam stops now!
