View Full Version : Regarding posting of other forum's names/links

In advance, if this is the wrong place to ask, please move this post.. I wasn't sure where to start this thread.

I was wondering if there is a rule regarding the mentioning of other forum's names?

For example, I've seen getpaidforum.com (GPF) mentioned many times, along with links to posts and threads there.

I've never seen who-is-who-in-gpt.com mentioned by that name in this forum (until yesterday and it was referred to as "who is who forum"). Is it against the rules here to mention who-is-who-in-gpt.com? As an aside, the last that I knew, GPF had who-is-who-in-gpt.com on its word filter list. I don't think that this forum has followed suit.

Is it forbidden, in this forum, to post links to posts or threads at the who-is-who forum?

I am very interested too to know this as I could then quote the lies you just posted about me at who is who, unless you quickly edit of course ...

Mods, please look at the above quoted post. I believe that it breaks rule 2 and is an attempt to "to incite, embarrass or ridicule another member, including personal attacks"

What I post at other forums has no relevence here, I believe. Perhaps the mods would be kind enough to rule on that too.

I will then simply prove my point, easy as pie ... and if I am warned because I try to defend myself and speak out the truth, then so be it, sometimes the truth is worth that much.

Because of some personal reasons, I decided that from now on, once in a while, when I have time and am in that mood, I would react when people spread rumors about me.

Good question.

In response to the initial question concerning "a rule regarding the mentioning of other forum's names" ... there is none, nor is it "forbidden, in this forum, to post links to posts or threads at the who-is-who forum", or any other.

Having said that, I will remind all concerned of something often forgotten, which is found in the forum rules.

"In summary, if you wish to become a member of this site, we welcome you and ask that you treat others as you would be treated, with respect and courtesy. Help us to maintain a sense of professionalism by exhibiting dignity and honesty within your posts."

Is it necessary to bring squabbles from another forum to this one, or link to ongoing disputes elsewhere, simply to further the dispute at another location. This has led to the banning of several former members of this site; and, what purpose did any of it serve? None.

Hi,

I understand your point Ron but I posted once at that forum to defend myself and the post I had replied to was then edited without any notice or coment that it had been edited, it made my post looking a bit wierd to say the least.

As I am admin at GPF, I can't post there as some would directly, like they did before, insinuate I manipulate things so that wouldn't help much to fix the problem.

Therefore I hoped I could bring the truth here as GPTB for me is considered as a place to inform people about sites and PTR activities. I would like to inform they are misled about some sites and people's activities by lies posted at another forum and I have no other possibilities than to do it here.

I just wanted to quote the post and say what was incorrect.

If you think it's better to hush up and let them continue as you want to preserve the atmosphere here at GPTB or for any other reason, I can understand that and will not post anymore about it.

Thanks

Sophie

Well, as I see the fact that I wanted to post the truth created some problems here and there, and some seem to have lost total control when they talk about me and people I know, it is now beyond ridiculous and don't even need to be addressed anymore.

I am sure also every reasonable person can understand why I don't post at who is who :)

Everyone wanting informations about my activities can find it at GPF where I explained my 'connections' or can contact me.

If people, some who even never even talked to me and don't know me, want to continue posting about me and spread rumours because someone told them something ... just enjoy doing so, I for one go back to my normal surfing.

Just FYI, Surfjunky said once at Who Is Who that moderators can edit without leaving any note so members can't see it has been edited ... if he said it..it must be true, not ? ;)

All have a great evening/day, wherever you are :)

Questions and concerns were addressed by Ron, all I see now are repetitive, off-topic, and self-serving posts meant to inflame and incite.

As originator of this thread, I'm respectfully requesting that it be closed.

Thank you in advance.

OK, if wanting to defend oneself and tell the truth is wrong and has to be silenced, so be it.

SophieThat's pretty much how you guys do things over at GPF, isn't it Sophie? I've got the warnings to prove it, too.

Cheers,

Wil

Warnings are given when rules are broken, moreover if we continue here, Bulldog will tell us to re-read Ron's post ;)
