BARTOW - Polk County authorities are looking for an 11 month old girl who has been missing since Saturday. Ta-Nyiah Monique Leonard, an African-American girl with black hair and brown eyes, could be in danger in the custody of her mother's boyfriend, Michael Lewis.

According to Lt. Gary McLin of the Bartow Police Department, Ta-Nyiah's mother, 17-year-old Miranda Jones, got into an "altercation" with the 19-year-old Lewis this weekend, during which time he made threats that McLin would not elaborate on.

"Due to the statements he made, we believe the child could be in very serious danger. We're just trying to locate her to make sure she's OK," McLin said.

Michael Lewis is being sought in connection with Ta-Nyiah's disappearance. Ta-Nyiah was last seen in the custody of Lewis, Jones' ex-boyfriend, at his apartment at the Azeala Gardens complex on Gulfview Avenue.

Anyone with information on Ta-Nyiah's or Lewis' whereabouts is asked to contact the Bartow police department at (863) 534-5034.

This is an Amber Alert -- Robert Aaron Strauser, 5 yrs. 3' 4", 40 pounds, blond hair and blue eyes and his brother Matthew Howard Strauser, 7 yrs. 4' 50 pounds, blond hair and blue eyes. John Wesley Strauser, 30, 5' 11", brown hair and blue eyes, is believed to have abducted the boys in the Columbus OH, USA area. Strauser is believed to be driving a brown 1989 Chevrolet van with two racing stripes and Ohio plate number CV06SH. The van has two large tinted windows on the driver's side and a tinted window on the passenger's side. Anyone with information should call the Knox County Sheriff at (740) 397-3333 or 911. John Wesley Strauser, 30, is believed to have abducted his 5-year-old son and his 4-year-old son.


Matthew Howard Strauser (pictured, on the right) and Robert Aaron Strauser (pictured, on the left) were not returned to their mother last week following a supervised visitation with their father in Columbus.

A spokesman at the Knox County Sheriff's Office told the Marion Star that Strauser is believed to be driving a brown 1989 Chevrolet van with two racing stripes. The van has two large tinted windows on the driver's side and a tinted window on the passenger's side. The license plate number on the van is CV06SH.

Knox County Sheriff Dave Barber told the newspaper that he feels the kids are in "imminent danger." Anyone with information on the children or their father the Knox County Sherriff at (740) 397-3333 or 911.

The boys and their father last were seen Monday in the Columbus area wearing blue sweatsuits. At the time they were in a 2002 dark-blue Dodge Stratus with Ohio license plates BEU 9315.

Robert Aaron Strauser, is 3 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 40 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. Matthew Howard Strauser is 4 feet tall, weighs about 50 pounds and has blond hair and blue eyes.

Their father, John Wesley Strauser, 30, is 5 feet 11 inches tall and has brown hair and blue eyes.
