View Full Version : Every low paid e-mail company
I say we should boycott those e-mail sites who consistently make us click on links worth 0.2 cents or less...
This includes 'cheap links' and 'mini e-mails'.
I would ask all webmasters to keep to the 0.2 cent minimum please, because I am sure (although it might start lower), the new GPTBoycott guidelines will make sure e-mail sites paying less than 0.2 cents per click are boycotted...
Rob
PS.
I know this isn't going to be popular with all webmasters, and I appreciate your feedback. GPTboycott is about improving the industry and if every company pays less than 0.2c per click, then the industry can't go anywhere...

I hate those cheap links and mini e-mails! Fast speed connection is not available in my area and they take FOREVER to load!

I totally agree. If links were worth more I'm sure it would drastically cut down on the e-mail most of us receive daily giving us a chance to actually browse the sites we visit and maybe even sign-up or buy something. Happy advertisers buy more ads. It would also have the benefit (I think) of improving click-thrus which seems to be a problem for some webmasters.

0.2c seems to low to me. I seem to remember that there was a post on these forums a couple of months ago saying all programs paying under 1c per link should be boycotted.
Imo, I'd nominate 0.5c to be the watershed, but you're definately right that these 0.1 and 0.03 cent paid links are doing harm.
I'm willing to hang around for 0.5c, but the 0.2c or lower programs are killing themselves on bandwidth and hence have less money to pay us with. Simple maths says, if they don't have it, they can't give it away.
And don't get me started on paid searches. The number of these I get a day would help, if I had Alzheimer's maybe. However, still being somewhat compus mentis, to take 'advantage' of all the opportunities I receive, requires more 'inventiveness/deception' than I am willing to put out for 0.3c, or less.
If you can't sell your product for a reasonable price, then find a different product. JMHO
If I have a search to do at the time. My brain can be a wonder of misorganisation at times, lol. I'll do one, but personally, I think that performing a search to get paid and for no other reason, is tantamount to cheating.
I believe, one of the reasons that advertisers are less willing to spend money advertising online these days, to the detriment of all aspects of the paid to surf industry. Unfortunately, it seems that in the minds of too many potential advertisers, online advertising, is online advertising, regardless of style and performance requirements to qualify for payment.
So, my recommendations are twofold, first cut back on the paid to search links as the major income generators (both members and owners alike) for paid to read email programs and secondly, search only if you need to do one. That way, credibility may be restored to at least this sector of the PTS industry in the eyes of those paying the cold hard cash, that we all crave a portion of.
Just my 2c worth.

I agree with you Ben, clicking on those measly links and then having to sit through a 15 or 20 second timer! GEESH, how much time do they think I have for the cheap stuff. It's a CHEAP link, they paid less, I should get to stay less time on their site!
I don't even bother with those links to click for seach. Glad the webmasters are identifying them as such. Saves me time, I click the delete button instead of the link. :D

Well, Rupe...that was partially true.
Here's my ideas on the situation.
I used to think that all paid-email sites that sent paid-emails of less than 1 cent were bad, and should be stayed away from, but I've changed my mind slightly.
Personally, I know I'm not going to click on any email links worth less than 1.0 cent. But it's up to each individual person to decide for themselves. Sure, they ARE harming the industry by supporting such low rates, but if a person wants to click on a link for $0.00001, I guess that's their business.
The paid-email companies' responsibility, I think, is to at least mark how much each link pays before a member clicks on it. That way, they can decide how much their work and time is worth, and which advertisers will get their attention. These sites that have the new "mini-paid" and "cheap" links should include anything under a cent in these sections. (Yes, even those 0.9 cent links aren't real paid-emails!)
What makes the paid email system good is that advertisers are paying for quick access to unique viewers. If they don't want to pay the rates that will allow members to earn at least a cent for a link, they should be spending their money for a regular paid-click on some site, where payouts are EXPECTED to be lower. (Personally, the lowest I'll go for a paid-click is around a quarter-cent.)
All that I'm saying is that everyone thinks to decide how much your time and work each day at your emailbox is worth, make a standard for yourself and KEEP IT! You can't change anything if you don't stick to your beliefs.
Thanks for reading,
Aaron, who accidentally clicked a .33 cent email today (GRRRR...)
