ePilot - Dead

ePilot was a promising paid-to-search program, offering downloads to assist member's earnings. However, they soon decided upon a policy of non-payment to their members. Many members reported reaching the required payout minimum, and then being wrongly accused of cheating, and thus their accounts were terminated without payment. Their website still exists, but they do not operate their paid-to-search program any longer, and instead operate as a PPC search engine.

ePilot is now on the Dead List. This means it is no longer in operation.
All comments refer to the period of time when this program was in operation. No further complaints will be accepted for this program.
This program was moved onto the Dead List on June 26, 2004.
Further information about the Dead List and its policies may be found at http://www.gptboycott.com/dead.

Comments: I had enough earnings when they stopped paying for searches, and when I emailed them about my payment, they said I breached their terms and conditions, which was untrue, they just didn't want to pay.

Name: Pat Murphy
Date: February 6, 2002
Comments: I followed their rules and worked hard to promote their program. When I asked for my payment they claimed I did not follow the rules.

Name: Mark Alter
Date: February 20, 2002
Comments: [Mark forwarded to us an e-mail which he received from ePilot, it can be viewed here. Thanks for sending this Mark!]

Name: Debby
Date: February 22, 2002
Comments: I was accused of cheating which I did not. Could never reach $20 because everytime I went on the amount they owed me changed

Name: Silvia
Date: April 9, 2002
Comments: THEY DID THE SAME TO ME, THEY CLAIMED I HAD BROKEN THE RULES AND DID NTO PAY ME, MIND YOU, BEFORE THAT THEY HAD TOLD ME FOR MONTHS THEY WOULD PAY AND CLAIMED SOME ACCOUNTANCY PROBLEMS THEY WERE SORTING OUT. PATHETIC!

Name: Peg
Date: April 19, 2002
Comments: They claimed I had broken the rules, also. I told them it was one way of not having to pay me

Name: Wendy
Date: April 21, 2002
Comments: They said I broke the rules too! I had almost $100 in accumulated earnings and I've never seen a dime and don't expect to. This site is big rip off!!!

Name: Donna
Date: May 1, 2002
Comments: You will not find a single non cheater according to ePilot. I was accused of cheating a month after I joined. ( I had $.59 in my account. If that's the best I can do cheating...I need LOADS of help!) After that was straightened out, I had my account back. Lo and behold, I have $36 in my account after a year and it will never be any less. SCAM!

Name: Barbara Richardson
Date: May 9, 2002
Comments: Something I think needs to be seriously considered: Not only has epilot.com / eliberation.com been a major scam, but they are slandering users by saying we are liars and cheaters! This doesn't cut it!!

Name: Mary
Date: July 12, 2002
Comments: When ePilot changed from a paid to click "member" service to their newest (pay-per-click engine)service they claimed that they would pay their pay to click members and until that time you could still log in and see what was owed you. Well the change occurred almost 2 years ago and I STILL have $60 in my "account" -- they have never stated they would NOT pay me but have told me (several times) they would pay me as soon as possible - after 2 years what do you think my chances are? ...pretty slim I'd say

Comments: Epilot has really abused the system and I feel that we should all file a report with the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. Maybe if enough complaints are made they will be forced out of business!!!!

Name: Farah
Date: July 20, 2002
Comments: They have been telling me to wait will last year as i have too many referrals they never said to me any thing about cheating just kept me waiting

Name: SYIHAN
Date: July 31, 2002
Comments: I do all of because I want to tell you about this program are not honest at all. Please imagine that how can they paid US$0.03 per click/search????

Name: Dee Wheat
Date: August 4, 2002
Comments: I got the same exact email that Mark Alter did when I emailed them about the moneys owed me. This is, apparently, their canned response.

Name: Pan
Date: August 14, 2002
Comments: I have the same problem with them. I have over 170 in balance.

Name: Lucille Nelimark
Date: August 16, 2002
Comments: I had almost $200 in my account and they reduced it down to $16 saying my referrals and I had both cheated so they had to subtract the earnings...needless to say, I quit using their site..nothing but spam

Name: Bob
Date: August 16, 2002
Comments: I worked very hard and promoted the site. After reaching $350, I attempted to cash out. Same story as everyone else. They said I had abused the search engine and broken rules. They cancelled my account.

Name: Laurie
Date: August 23, 2002
Comments: I reached the 20.00 amount and asked how I cash outand they told me they were processing redemptions at that time for all of us that had earned it. I never heard from them again. I guess I must have been another cheater.

Name: Andy S. Murray
Date: August 23, 2002
Comments: Agghhh. Money seemed to leave my ePilot account as quickly as I earnt it. Never in the form of a payment to me though!

Name: Derek
Date: August 26, 2002
Comments: I have been with them for a while and just checked and my earnings are $33.72 when they were pay per search. I have requested a check over the past 18 months and have recevied no answer from them. I did not "cheat" them and would like to get paid.

Name: gilles
Date: August 26, 2002
Comments: same thing happened to me with epilot, got my account cancelled when i contacted the BBB about them, but i have filed a complaint with http://www.bigclassaction.com/index.html maybe that will do something because they are still making money, which we the members helped them with at the beginning, but they have other search engines they are associated with, check out their site to see which ones they are and boyccott those as well.

Name: Travis
Date: September 27, 2002
Comments: They screwed me out of $120+ earnings, said I broke the rules as well.

Name: Barb
Date: October 11, 2002
Comments: I finally received my money $ 80.00. It took aboyt 9 months but I hounded the CEO of ELiberation. To be fair he was very fair and honest and did not try to give me the run around. I persisted and eventually came out ahead. My son was not as fortunate but it was only $ 20.00 so I did not persue. Good Luck to everyone.

Name: I_HATE_EPILOT

Comments: Epilot is a BUST! I manage dozens of PPC accounts, and Epilot is by far the worst performing PPC - NOT ONLY DO THEY SCR*W AFFILIATES OUT OF CASH MONEY, THEY SCR*W US ADVERTISER'S TOO! BOGUS CLICK-THROUGHS, FAKE TRAFFIC REPORTS AND THEY ALSO LIKE TO SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO OTHER MARKETING COMPANIES. BOYCOTT EPILOT!

Name: Dean Beith
Date: February 2, 2003
Comments: I finally got my check from Epilot yesterday.

Name: Paul
Date: February 13, 2003
Comments: Got over $20, then had my account taken away because i cheated even though I used it most appropriately and did not cheat. F- those jerks, I hope they rot in hell.

Name: Anonymous
Date: December 6, 2003
Comments: Just so you guys know, I've done some work for the company, and they are legit -- because of the high number of cheaters, they used an automated script to try and filter out those who cheated vs those who did not. Those who came out got paid (they may still be paying some). Now they are a different company..chalk it up as a learning experience for everyone and move on. -Anon

Comments: I note that no one has mentioned the fact that they did not pay any of their affiliates thru linkshare, and were booted from the network.
