Boycott SurfJunky!

Date Boycotted: Before 2007
URL: http://www.surfjunky.com

Surf Junky is a site promising "up to $.75 per hour to surf", using their website. However, as the mathematics of the site show, these promised rates are simply not sustainable, given the advertising rates they charge. The unsustainability of the site is one of the reasons Surf Junky is boycotted.

However, there is one more pressing reason why this site is boycotted, this being the widespread deletion of accounts. As an article recently posted at GPTBoycott.Com details, as soon as a member nears the $25 minimum payout amount, their account is invariably deleted. A number of our complaints, found below, will testify to this. Members are presented with a variety of false reasons for their account deletion, the most common being accusations of multiple windows instances in an attempt to defraud the program.

For these reasons of unsustainability and false deletion of accounts, Surf Junky has been boycotted.

Further details about Surf Junky can be found at the following URLs:

Comments: I have been a member for 2 months with an active downline. I do not cheat or try to get something I didn't earn. Yesterday when I tried to log in, I was told that my account had been suspended for using multiple browsers, and that the decision couldn't be appealed. With surf junky you must have 2 windows open one is for the main control area and when you click on surf another window opens and runs. I am cancelled but my referral link is still active. Shouldn't they take that out of their system also. I am truly upset not at losing the money ($32.00), but more so for being scammed. I take that personally. I have been to several forums and there are plenty out there mad. I am just doing my part to spread the word.

Comments: Deleted my account after claiming that I had more than one surf junky browser open. I had just reached the payout. I know that I never had more than one surf junky browser open.

Comments: I have spent my nights and weekends dilligently surfing surjunky since signing up. But as payday comes, surfjunky owner claimed I have used auto-refreshing program & revoke my account and pay. I'm not an Internet wiz-kid & I don't know whats an auto-refreshing program. I want to warn all surfers out to stay away from surfjunky as the site is operated by cheaters. The owner won't bother to give evidence to your alleged fault nor listen to appeals.

Comments: When you are about to get your payout, they would accuse you of breaking the rules. This is what I got: "Your account has been suspended Reason: Consistently using more than one Surf Junky Browser. Please read our terms of service for more information. This decision cannot be appealed." The fact is the program would not even allow multiple browser. More complaints are available at Misty and Sams Cash forum at http://mistyandsamforum.com They should be stopped!

Comments: surf junky hosts its site off of a domain that has been known to take advantage of people and be fake gtp sites... surf junky's payouts are obviously stupid, cause ridiculous amounts of money can be made... not only that, but when you reach their minimum payout of 25 dollars, their ad rotator links to a flash movie thats singing "you are an idiot" off of albinoblacksheep... very unrealistic payouts anyway.

Comments: My account was suspended as they claimed i was using an auto refreshing program (which i was actually not having any). This is very unfair to the members. This is how it happen, I was able to login initially, after cliking the "earn money" link in their member section a new page appear showing the Surf Junky home page. I then close down that page and re-click the link, the next message appeared was their home page with a message stating this is part of their process to detect cheater and requesting me to close down the browser, it also stating there if i wish to log in again may do so after 5 minutes. I then log out and relogin after 15 minutes and found out my account was suspended. I do keep a login record for myself and before the suspenssion of my account, i was actually owning Total surfing time = 45.22 hrs Total earning = $19.68 Total activity point = 25 This is the message shown when i try to retrieve my password. "Your account has been suspended Reason: Consistently using more than one Surf Junky Browser. Please read our terms of service for more information. This decision cannot be appealed." This incident does not happen only to me but it involved a very huge group of people, their unhonest act should be make public and therefore i am reporting them here. Please investigate and take the appropriate follow up action. Thank you for spending your valuable time reding this message. Beh Joo Ming forum username: richman3344

Comments: SurfJunky regulary gave me warnings for "Multiple Browser Instances" while legitimately viewing their site in one Internet Explorer window from only one computer at a time. Their server issues caused "This page cannot be displayed" errors that required a refresh, subsequently resulting in the same warning. After three days of usage and "earning" a little over $12 my account was deactivated without explanation. They do not reply to contact attempts or provide a reason for suspension.

Comments: They deleted four of my accounts and claimed that i was cheating, when I have not even used the auto refreshing programs. As soon as my account reached close to 20$ they closed them. I dealt with the annoying popups every 30 seconds for about 40 hrs each time. I have contacted customer support on different occasions and no response. I think it is a scam

Comments: This site suspended my account claiming I was surfing with 2 browsers, which I was not doing. They had the site down for a few days, claiming they were doing maintence, when the site was back up, I tried it, I was able to get logged on so I began surfing. After a while, I got a messege stating I was surfing with 2 browsers, I WAS NOT. A few minutes later the same thing happened. I then shut my puter down and started all over. I once again got the same messege a third time, I rebooted again, after that I was not able to get back on. I emailed them two times with no resopnce. Today when I tried to get logged on and have my password sent to me again, thinking I had a problem with my password, I was shown a messege stating that I was suspended. I think the problem here is that they have a glitch after they did maintence. None the less, because of some problem on their side, I was wrongfully suspended and deleted.

Comments: Wanting to see what all the hype was about, I joined this program around the end of February, 2005. I quickly reached $25, and was thereafter deleted from their site, without any email or notice whatsoever. After a few months had passed, I was sent an email stating that my account had been deleted due to a software malfunction, and that it had been reinstated. Of course, it was just a ploy to get me to earn more for them, as I still have not been paid for what I had accumulated over 6 months ago. This program has never paid a soul, and never intended to from the very beginning, with its outrageous rates simply meant to bring in members to harvest more advertising dollars which were meant to be kept from the get-go.

Comments: After I reached the $25 payout my account was closed, i could not log in. I filed a complaint with the FTC and received an email a few weeks later from Surfjunky stating that the change to daylight savings time had accidently closed some accounts (impossible). Needless to say it is now January, my balance is still at $32 and i still have not been paid nor received a response to my emails

Name: Labyrinth
Date: January 28, 2006
Comments: My account is still open, but I have not been paid. I thought maybe I should wait 30 days and see what will happens...still have not been pay. I knew it is too good to be true. On a positive side, I joined the program for free so I am not hurt if I do not get paid.

Comments: I had been a member for several months & earned about $35. While payouts are supposed to be automatic (as claimed on their site), I never received payment & after trying to email about it 1 time, I have still gotten no response. Definitely a scam site - stay away!

Comments: i made over 45$ but never received payment. upon contacting support, nobody answered my complaint/question. i left of my own free will, sort of knowing the site already had the rep of not paying or deleting accounts that reach minimum payout.

Comments: I'm fortunate that I've only been running the program for a day, off and on, before investigating it. I only made $2.40, and didn't lose anything. Thanks to your comments, I won't be surfing one more second. I was almost sure it was a scam, but thought I'd see if I would be paid once at least. I recently joined 2 paid to read programs, and have been paid $3 twice from one in a week. Isn't much, but at least they paid.

Comments: Don't feel to bad folks,I spend over 220 hours and have $105.94 in my account.I emailed him and not got a response at all and my account is still open and I recieved Nothing yet.I have 133 activity points.Dont remember when I signed up though.Just when I want to change address because I moved it says the same thing as when I signed up, YOUR ACCOUNT CANNOT BE UPDATED AT THIS TIME YOU MUST WAIT AT LEAST 30 DAYS AFTER YOU JOIN. There isn't a law on this?Or is that because all I seen so far(not that I was watching)it is a free site.

Comments: I had been running the Surf Junky browser for a little over 2 months. I have made $230.06, and never been paid 1 cent. I have emailed them 3 times, with no response. I have not been banned as of yet, but I know it is coming. I am writing the FTC and the IFCC with a fraud complaint. Hope people never run this program. P.S. For those of you that say you have been paid, with no problems, I would like to see the proof.

I have over $108 dollars that have yet to be put into my account and also sent a "help ticket" in to see if I can get any response....and you guessed it, NOTHING! I wish I would have found this site sooner so I wouldn't waste my time, so now I have book marked this page.
