Boycott RichMails!

Date Boycotted: Before 2007
URL: http://www.richmails.net

RichMails, located at RichMails.net, is a paid e-mail program offering the opportunity for its members to "work at home" and to make "real money for [their] home work". They offer a $100 signup bonus, claim to pay its members to read e-mails, and offer to pay $25 for each referral once they cash out. The site claims that members will be paid once their account balance reaches the minimum payout amount of $350. Such rates of payment are patently unsustainable, and could not be fulfilled by even the best run paid e-mail program.

As the complaints below detail, the company has no intention of ever paying its members. The sums quoted above and in the complaints which follow are indicative of a site without a sustainable business plan - a site which should be avoided by all those serious about earning money online.

For the reasons above, and the complaints listed below, RichMails has been boycotted!

Comments: This is a new "Big-Money" CAC Site, and I think it is a record breaker. Minimum payout there is $350. To make it even funnier there are no referral commissions - you will receive a $25 bonus when his referrals request payment. I am sure that no one will ever earn any money with them, and to prove it a simple calculation:

If they will send a 5c email daily it will take 350/0.05 = 7,000 days and 7,000/365 = 19.2 years. Of course they may send a 10c email daily, or even a 1$ one, but nothing will change the fact that it will take years to earn that minimum.

Comments: This program is a huge fraud! With an minium of $350 it is impossible to cash out! It would take you years to reach it. And you dont get your referral earnings until they cash out. BOYCOTT Richmails!

Comments: I completely agree. It is ridiculous and the worst part is the people who are just surfing the net suddenly see this site offering a $100 signup bonus and say "Cool!" and signup having no idea what they are getting into. That is the reason why you get emails from all the high payout CAC's because members get fed up and just stop clicking.

Name: Angela
Date: April 28, 2002
Comments: I'd like to know how they could ever afford to pay the signup bonuses & referral bonuses. Esp since many other sites that used to have sign up bonuses no longer have them.

Comments: i know and even worse one that works on the same base they pay you 10 cents per email and pay you when your referals cashout and you havve to cash out at $500 but what makes it worse they dont offer anything else for your money like advertisements and they advertise they have over 73000 members impossible more like 73 members

Comments: I paid Austin Ellis, the owner of Richmails, $20 for a 3 cent paid email to all members on 5/14/02. He has not sent out my ad after promising to do so. I have the PayPal transaction record. As of this moment he has ripped me off.
Update: Adam finally got his money back but it costed him $0.88 to do it. I wonder why Austin didnt just go ahead and send the paid email?

Comments: After 2 and a half months with richmails I earned a whopping $8.08 ooooh wow!

I worked out it would take 43 months to get paid, that's three and a half years. Naturally, I have unsubscribed and encourage others to do the same with this unrealistic program. I have since joined other sites that pay me real money. Oh and Richmails do NOT send daily emails

Name: Kim Bitzer

Comments: I had the same experience with them. I kept checking my stats and was never making any money. After a couple months of not getting regular emails and not seeing any growth in my 'income,' I cancelled my account. Please don't join this program if you are trying to make money.

Comments: Thank you All for posting to this Site. I've been trying for 3 weeks to get answers as to exactly "what" Richmails' payment plan really is and has anyone Ever Been Paid. As a result of my promotions, I've got about 70 people in my downline and no way of contacting them to let them know this is a Total Scam. What is funny is that I found this Site via a search from Richmails Get Paid to Click program. Thanks again!

Comments: Wow...so I'm not the only one to get screwed?? I joined RichMails about 2 months ago and started right away with advertising it (nothing violating their Terms & Conditions)within 2 weeks I had 42 referrals. I asked to be cashed out but no email in return. I wasn't getting paid for the "Paid-to-Click" link, i emailed them, no answer. Their terms say that members have to agree to accept Paid E-mails but no more than one per day. I receive at least 6. Someone I referred gets upwards of about 30 a day. So apparently they break their own rules and send emails to who they want. I kept emailing them in hopes to get some type of response to what was going on with my account and I got nothing. I filed complaints with the FTC & BBB (I advise you do as well) because they are fraudulent, misrepresent, and falsely advertise. I was checking my account everyday to see how many referrals were in there. One day there was 42 (and I have print outs to prove it), the next morning there were only 5. FIVE!!!! Where did these other referrals go overnight? I asked but never received any explanation as to where these referrals went to. Then just recently, my whopping 5 got knocked down to 1...again no explanation. I email them constantly telling them I am their worst nightmare. All-in-all, they lie, don't answer email (and I've saved all my one-way email correspondence to them), and just do what they please with your account. They'll keep sending you their client's advertisements but won't answer your email and they won't let you cash out. EVER. RICHMAILS.COM SUCKS.

Comments: I thought I was the only one out there pissed off with RICHMAILS, glad to know there are others who want to see them off the web for good. It was a free program, i decided I'd try it... nothing to loose right? Well, I ended up legitly earning over 500.00 dollars, others I know earned well into the thousands. I sent in multiple requests to be paid. They never answer! I bet if I was sending a donation -that would be processed in minutes! but these people ignore you, it is impossible to be paid with them even if you did wait the 19+ years. Reason: They ramdomly delete your contacts and reduce the amount you have earned to suit there needs... One day I had 12 contacts, the next I was at 3 with just the 100.00 start off money. All you get out of richmails is bulk email and tons of spam each day that never ends. I contacted the FTC and the BBB, PLEASE! everyone do the same! They both have websites that you can file a report on. RICHMAILS SUCKS! -And what they are doing is false advertising -illegal, and it needs to be stopped!

Comments: Well I know how everyone else feels you get sick and tired of people taking each other for a ride I to emailed this company many time with no response that in its self should have let the alarm bells ring but the dollar is so hard to come by and make these days that you just keep wishing and hoping that it was above board.I've now deleted myself from this program and have kept the attitude that if it sounds to good stay cear from it!!!!!! What these low lifes need to remember if you give out BAD KARMA it will come back and bite you on the butt big time twice as bad, maybee not tommorrow or the next but some where down the track it will gert you STAY CLEAR OF RICHMAILS

Comments: well i hadnt been a member of richmails for very long... i have only the following in my account with them: Paid Email Clickthrus: $2.4400 Credits: $100.0000 Sign Up Bonus -- $100.0000 i had been receiving mail pretty regularly from them, and then all of a sudden the mail just stopped as of a couple of weeks ago... not quite sure why tho... now their current membership says that it has almost 117,000 members.... uh, hullo, i think someone needs to do some spring cleaning on their database lol... thats just crazy, no way possible to have that many members.... when i first stumbled upon richmails, i said oh how cool looks like it could be a keeper, but... when i saw how many members they had, like 90,000 and some change, i thought oh my lord how the heck will you ever get referrals under you for this one lol i think i'll hold off on advertising and see where the chips fall.... good thing i stuck to my guns on that one, eh? after reading everyones posts here on GPT Boycott.com, i did go in per the instructions and try to do my part and boycott richmails and unsubscribe myself from their program, all to no avail.... i can still sign in and browse about, and gawk at my measley $2.44 in earnings lol... one other thing i find interesting, even in light of some folks spotting richmails up for sale on ebay, which i unfortunately missed out on seeing, is that they havent even put a note up on their site or anything about their problems... just more examples of shoddy webmastering i suppose.... but another thing of interest, and importance, is to get the word out to the other large group of folks to come read the info here at this site on this GPT program... another thing that irks me, is that in their paid-to-click section, wowzers, gee theres 6 paid searches there that will show back up everyday for you to do them again... so, nevermind the fact they are ripping people off by messing with their earnings, not paying people, and making referrals go poof-in-the-night, but, im sure theres OODLES of people that are left to do their click thru searches on the richmails site, especially for those folks who have stopped getting the paid mails from them as i have, and all the while earning richmails webmaster money, and stiffin his members... that, folks, grinds my gravey! thanks to everyone who takes the time to read and post for all the honesty and integrity out there that help keep the GPT world in check! as always, rebecca wood

Comments: Hey everyone, I have been promoting this campaign for some time now and have recieved 17 referrals to date. I feel bad for these people that signed up under me but I did not know that they were SCAM ARTISTS. I have sent numerous email messages to them requesting clarification of the payout. To this date I have not recieved one reply, so I started to look into it a little further. I found this excellent website and it opened my eyes to RichMails. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and posted with the Bad Business Bureau and advise you all do the same as well. The Bad Business Bureau can't really do much other than advertise our messages posted to their database. The FTC can help out but the only problem is that they don't help out individuals; they need to receive multiple complaints about an organization in order to take action. Here is the link to FTC to post a complaint https://rn.ftc.gov/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 So lets all get together and promote RICHMAILS as a SCAM ALERT and get them shut down. Also we should all support websites like the Bad Business Bureau and GPTBoycott to give all entrepreneurs a place to check out new business opportunities. GPTBoycott also has a section 'Seal Of Approval' to let you know what programs are honest, paying, and worth joining. So please support these sites with your rip-off experiences as well as your success experiences, Thanks!

Comments: I did sign up with Richmails due to all the ads saying how they paid so well. Then after I clicked on a bunch of ads and went and saw that yes, the $100 and the $25 per referral wouldn't be paid out until you earned over $300.00, I canceled my membership. I'm real glad that I did cancel, as I didn't think this place was a rip off. Buyer Beware!

Comments: I must be the biggest idiot here. I started Richmails back in June. I thought its free and since I was new to internet marketing, it would be a good experience. After reading all the postings here, I feel like the biggest fool around. Get this: I have 28 in tier 1, 90 in tier 2 and 30 in tier 3. With my paid click thrus (which were coming on a pretty consistent basis until about 2 weeks ago) and my sign up bonus that is $3808.00. And I could have sworn that the rules stated that I would get paid for every full cent that any of my referrals earned. I sent many emails regarding why my referrals paid clickthrus never showed. I understood the cashout policy of $350.00, but I thought that these fruitcakes understood that anyone who would signup with them were into a little more instant gratification. I would be 59 years old before I earned $350.00 at the rate they were going. Now I don't feel as bad after reading how people have been criminally cheated. Bravo to the guy who is suing that punk! I think since I have so many referrals I will keep the account open and see what happens after this. Maybe the FTC would like to see an open account for proof. Go Get'em!!!!

Comments: UPDATE-- I posted my first complaint on 01/17/03. I left my account open to see where it would lead. I have been keeping printed screen shots of my referrals and earnings. Surprise Surprise! I had a total of 237 referrals yesterday morning, 160 in tier 2 alone. Lo and behold this morning Austin finally got around to deleting some of my referrals. Now I only have 127, tier 2 was cut to 69!!. I sent the obligatory mail asking where my referrals went, noting that I noticed that the member count has not gone down. This guy is a loser!

I emailed them just after Christmas because they were NOT sending any paid emails. NO RESPONSE!!! Then shortly after maybe a week later I emailed them again and NO RESPONSE!! OK I just let it go. Then they stole my referrals. What a BIG SCAM!!!! I read everyones replys here but thought that I would keep going for a while to see what happeneds but when they STOLE my referrals...That was it!!! Comments: I must admit I was taken in by the fact that you earn $100 just for signing up. When I learnt that you have to earn another $250 I thought it was going to be hard but not impossible. I referred the site to loads of people without realising that I was wasting my time and effort on nothing more than a scam. I apologise to anyone who has signed up because of me but you are unlikely to recieve any money from the site. I would advise that you do not buy any of the advertising offered and that you unsubscribe as soon as possible to save yourselves the Email space!! Life is too short.

Comments: As of right now I am still a member of this program. $350 does sound steep. I will probably be over 100 yrs old before I finally reach payout. I have been a member for several months and have earned $28.8810 on my own with no referrals and I do get daily emails, but since reading the other posts and others having problems with getting paid, I want no part of that. I definately want to get paid, otherwise I am just wasting my time. Another program to consider boycotting is Readpay.com. This one is definately a SCAM!!!

Comments: Hi everyone, I tried helping a lot of people but nobody want to understand how some internet company cheats peoples, there is no logic in richmails program, you will never get paid for your referrals, but people don't want to understand why they will pay you $25 for each person just by filling one form, people only see $100 + $25 referral, when somebody referred me to this I read and understand it that time I tried to help him but he did'nt listened to me, anyway, most of these companeis are fraud, one of them is zwallet also, I use them only to get junck emails. jenny

Comments: I joined 5/11/02 before I really knew the deal about PTR programs, as of December 2003 I've earned on my own 44+ dollars. I really thought I was going to reach payout with that $100 sign up, what a real waste of time, I've earned that in 3 months in 10 other programs each. I've learned if it's over a $50 payout I STAY AWAY.

Comments: ITS 2004 AND RICHMAILS IS STILL RUNNING!!WHY?cant we really stop them from hurting more people?we are the victims of this richmails website and hence i am asking everyone who has finally realised that richmails is a fraud/scam to not just close their account but also send them an email to inform them that we are smarter than they think and yes we know what's going on with their stupid program.my advise to everyone is when you find a program you like to join first bookmark that website and use a little time to research it before joining it!!it would save you time and money.keep searching! there good programs out there!

Comments: If I had not seen this site I too would have been a new victim. I saw their scam ad on a message board where there were dozens and dozens of other scams and scammers. Thank you for having this site.

Comments: After I managed to collect more than $15.00 and had 11 referals under me, I can't log in to the server. It shows me an error notice that tells this: " Not Found The requested URL /cgi-bin/public_html/cgi-bin/ptc.cgi was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. ------------ Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.richmails.net Port 80 " I hope more people know about the stupid program they are having on that website.

Comments: I just signed up yesterday. I'm glad that I came accross this site! So far my major problem with them is that most of the sites they promote are pornographic!
